The history of India is very ancient. From the ancient times to the present day, the continuous flow of history flows through various important events. There are many important events in the history of India. Names and years of some important events are mentioned among these important events.
Just as we need to know formulas to do math, we need to calculate the year to read history. Among the many important events of Indian history, year counts as an important subject one. How many years ago an event happened can only be known from history books.
In ancient times, years were counted in different ways in different kingdoms. Sometimes the kings started the year according to their own choice. consider a country was ruling a king. So, during the reign of this king, a year system was introduced in the kingdom. But, A neighboring king took over this kingdom. And was start the new year in the new conquered kingdom.
Also two neighbouring states was two different years system. no match was with each other. At present local calendar is in operation along with English calendar. The two calendar years are different. For example let's say the day is 25/04/2024 in English calendar and the day is 25/04/2024 in bengali calendar is same. But the number is different. Sem method was in ancient times. This time was no common used calendar of the world. As at present the English calendar is used everywhere.
Historically, the way we count years has been split into two. The years before the birth of Jesus Christ are called in history B.C. The years after the birth of Jesus Christ are called A.D.
